Hey! *looks in mirror* Oh....

As for the Multiuser. Really if I could meet up with you guys and actually play SF2 or a 4 person game of Terminator 2 pinball, I'd be in. As for the social aspect, I'm happy to bounce into the forums and have a conversation.

That does sound kinda fun actually. Better yet, a two-player game of Joust or Wizard of Wor, where a two-player cooperative game is a whole different dealie than a single player game.
Look, a bird!

I want to finish up what I started with the Settings Editor before getting into the frontend code.

There's room for improvement on the online part and downloading stuff to sort of automatically update content is a cool feature that can be worked on.
However it needs to be official and models (or any other stuff) have to be a 100% compliant to the rules so it doesn't break anything.
The goal would be to let the user select what to download because, as it stands when you connect to the fileserver, you get everything in whatever folder the remote host set stuff up. Which I don't like.

Some examples of what I'm trying to get at:
- When you walk up to a cab, if you don't have the model, you can press F1 (the general fe menu) and have an option like "Download model for this game".
- Check for global updates (either externally or at startup) and have a list of what's new, updated, etc...
- Have the option to add multi-user configurations, models, skins (basically all resources) but stored on a completely separate folder so it keeps the local frontend untouched in any way.
_ The current concept of having a new multi-user selection set when online is already pretty good.

Updates may be arcades, models, skins but also gamelists and emulator configurations (anything relevant basically).

It could go even further and associate with emu-movies to download artworks and videos the same way via their API.
In this case, the user would have to get a subscription for it to work, you can see examples of this with GameEX or HyperSync for HyperSpin.
Yeah I think most of the users are the ones that make stuff of it really,I like your ideas,I would love to be able to add things to the server easer well I mean the femultiuser.cfg cause when adding a file you have to add the file size too so doing one line at a time it soooo long..:S

Try this:

Download

Place the executable at the root of where your files are and drag/drop any files and/or folders you want added.
I've limited the files location to relative paths so the result follow the cfg format all the time.

You can sort items by name or size by clicking the listview headers and remove items with a right-click.

This example copied this to the clipboard:

Code: Select all

mutest|arcades\arcanimtextures\arcadetest.cst;1966387;arcades\arcmodels\scapinoarcade2.W3D;228104;cfg\selsets\femultiuser.cfg;610;models\avpacman.W3D;8712;models\ghost.w3d;5428;models\muavatar.W3D;7668|

I updated the script (and the link above) so you can drop folders as well.
I also prevent adding anything from an external location so you don't have absolute paths in the resulting line. It means that you must place this exe at the root of where your files are.
